TWICE recalls PH Experience, new Tagalog words during MNL PressCon

Phenomenal K-pop group, TWICE, recently concluded their visit in the Philippines over the weekend for their highly-anticipated “Snacktacular Fan Meet” with Oishi on Saturday, June 1, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Not only did they bond with Filipino ONCES, but also waved hello to Philippine media in a press conference and talked about their Philippine experience last year, newly learned Tagalog words, and thoughts about their partnership with the local snack brand, Oishi.

They graced the afternoon with their cool Oishi jersey and held their Oishi plushes, which added to the cuteness of the members.

Together with them was renowned TV Host Robi Domingo who perfectly represented the delight of Filipino ONCEs with TWICE’s return in the Philippines, just eight months after their sold-out concert, “Ready to Be in Bulacan,” last September 30 and October 1 at the Philippine Arena.

Check out TWICE’s memorable afternoon in their press conference before their “Snacktacular Fan Meet” last Saturday, June 1.

TWICE

K-pop girl group TWICE made Filipino ONCEs and the press feel special with their presence at the press conference before their highly-anticipated ‘Snacktacular Fan Meet’ in Mall of Asia Arena.

Jeongyeon, on the other hand, said that the support of ONCEs who waited for them for four years for their concert last year was “touching.”

New Tagalog Words

When asked about their newly learned Tagalog words, Momo immediately answered, “Maganda si Jihyo.”
Dahyun charmed the press when she enumerated the words: “Ako si Dahyun,” “Baliw,” and “Salamat po!”
‘Mina also bragged about her new expression, “Ay, naku talaga!”

Oishi

TWICE shared that some of their favorite Oishi snacks arethe Spicy Prawn Crackers, Pillows, and Miggos.

Vacation

Jihyo shared that she would love to have the chance to visit the Philippines again and enjoy the sandy beaches and snorkeling activities
like how she did with her family when they visited the country in 2019. She also would like to try the world-famous dessert, halo-halo.

Momo and Jeongyeon

Meanwhile, Momo said that if there were a chance, she would love to visit all the ‘hot’ and popular food places in the Philippines.
But if she has to choose only one member to do it with, it would be Jeongyeon because “it would be fun.”

21:29

One member of the press asked what song they would dedicate to ONCE, and said it would be their b-side track from their 8th mini-album Feel Special, entitled “21:29.”

9th anniversary

Tzuyu shared that they already have a reserved restaurant for the celebration of their upcoming 9th anniversary this October,
especially since they have such hectic schedules and it has been hard for them to bond as a group.

Billboard Hot 100

Speaking of their achievements, the members looked back on their milestone of being in the Billboard 200 Charts and said that they now aim to prepare
“cooler, fresher, and better” music to reach the number one spot on Billboard Hot 100.

K-pop group TWICE holds 1st PH fan meet; vows to return in next tour

MANILA — “Yes!”

This was what K-pop girl group TWICE’s leader quickly said Saturday when asked if they would return to the Philippines in their future tours.

During their first-ever fan meet in the Philippines for local food brand Oishi, Park Jihyo easily answered a question on whether they would return to the country after their fan meet.

Im Nayeon, the group’s eldest member, also doubled down on this during her closing remarks.

“If [we’re] given the opportunity to perform here again, we will definitely come back to the Philippines,” Nayeon said through a translator.

Before the 9-piece act’s June fan meet, they last performed in the country in 2023 for their 2-day concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan as part of their “Ready To Be” tour.

The fan meet was held at the Mall of Asia Arena where fans of the girl group, also called ONCEs, were able to interact and play games with the idols, with some of the fans even winning exclusive signed items from the artists.

The girl group is composed of Nayeon, Yoo Jeongyeon, Hirai Momo, Minatozaki Sana, Jihyo, Myoui Mina, Kim Dahyun, Son Chaeyoung and Chou Tzuyu.

The Salted Egg Chips We’ve All Been Waiting For?

From lava buns to sauced-up seafood and even to fried chicken, salted egg proves to be not only trendy, but also incredibly versatile of a flavor. Among its most popular iterations is crunchy, snackable chips, made popular by Singaporean brands and soon emulated by a number of Filipino purveyors. Given the love for salted eggs in Filipino culinary tradition, it’s no wonder these salted egg chips have won over the nation. But their roughly-200 to 600 peso price tag per bag keeps them a once-in-a-blue-moon treat—and this doesn’t do justice to how much folks crave it.

One snack is here to change that. A newcomer to Oishi Gourmet Picks line, Oishi Gourmet Picks Salted egg flavor—made with real potatoes and salted egg sauce—satisfies salted egg cravings at a fraction of the price (35 PHP, but may vary in stores). On each piece you get the snap and hearty crunch of well-fried spuds; the pungency and creaminess of salted egg (along with an umami-boosting chicken-y note); plus a mild sweetness, subtle peppery heat, and herby counterpoint (from basil leaves in this case) to push and pull the taste buds in different directions, keeping you on your toes with every bite. Available at major supermarkets, they’re a convenient grab-and-go snack you won’t have to troop all the way to specialty stores (or abroad) for. And though just as rich, they feel less oily than other salted egg chip brands, so you get to stuff yourself without the umay sinking in as quickly.

It’s hard to stop at one chip—or at one bag, for that matter—and with its affordability, you won’t need to. Devour them by the piece (pro tip: use chopsticks), by the handful, or even by the double handfuls; it won’t cost an arm and leg either way. Great taste and a happy wallet need not be mutually exclusive; Oishi Gourmet Picks Salted Egg Flavor is a terrific everyday alternative to more expensive options that proves salted egg is here to stay.

It’s raining Oishi snacks and drinks in Alabang

MANILA — While the heavy downpour prevented many from enjoying their #TGIF, those from the south found a sweet refuge at the #OishiSnacktacular event at Festival Mall in Alabang.

Held at the heart of the mall, the #OishiSnacktacular event featured five exciting activities that delighted all participants regardless of age. It started with a fun opening program with no less than Oishi brand ambassador and comedienne Alex Gonzaga, who gamely participated in the activities.

The highlight of the activities is the “Snack Catcher,” where participants are strapped up into a harness and submerged into a pool packed with various Oishi snacks. Each participant is allowed to take home everything their limbs can grab, which will certainly make both kids and adults giggle out of excitement.

Another exciting activity is the “Snack Shack,” where each participant is given a two-foot Oishi pack that they could fill with their favorite Oishi snacks within 60 seconds.

The “Cuckoo Blaster,” on the other hand, is a little bit more action-packed as it required one to catch as many balls as possible. Those who won at the “Cuckoo Blaster” took home different Oishi drinks, from flavored juices to milky refreshments.

Meanwhile, those who are looking for a less physical activity lined up for the “O-Twirl” and “Make Your Own Snack” booths, which were set up side by side.

The “O-Twirl” booth features Choco Chug and Tea Matchi Matcha in soft-serve. One can also add 2 Oishi snacks as toppings. The “Make Your Own Snack” booth, on the other hand, allows participants to enjoy different Oishi chips in fun new dips (Sweet Chili, Cheesem Honey Mustard, Mayonnaise, Chocolate).

To make things more exciting, those who participate in all booth activities shall receive a free Oishi t-shirt. Four lucky participants may also get a chance to win a limited edition Oishi Friends plushie and gift certificates.

Another four lucky Instagram or Twitter users may also win an Oishi Friends plushie and Oishi snacks by simply uploading their photos with The Oishi Friends (Panya, Hippy, Pilyo, Waifu) and Cuckoo Bird who are roaming around the activity center.

On Sunday, get a dose of “kilig” as “La Luna Sangre” stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla who will be joining the event to entertain fans and also participate in some of the activites. For live updates, check out Oishi on their websiteFacebookInstagram, or Twitter accounts.

Oishi Snacktacular 2017 Activities!

We’ve witnessed Panya, Hippy, Pilyo, Waifu and the rest of the Oishi Friends in their slightly dark but humorous mishap adventures in Oishi’s famous webcomic strip series. With the friends’ varying appearances and personalities inspired by Oishi snacks, who can resist these adorable characters? And now, see them come to life in this year’s Oishi Snacktacular 2017 at Festival Mall, Alabang this weekend from July 28-30. Meet and eat the yummiest gang as Oishi’s innovative and interactive booths make their comeback with a twist!

We all know that Make Your Own Snack allows us to be inventive by choosing and mixing your chips and flavors of choice. This year, you choose a dip (or two) that you want to try with your favorite Oishi snack! Ridges dipped in chocolate? Why not! How about your favorite Fishda dipped in cheese and honey mustard? Trust us, it’s worth trying!

O-Twirl is also offering something new to Oishi’s soft served ice cream with another flavor for you to try! Choose between Oishi Choco Chug and Oishi’s newest tetra drink, Tea Matchi Matcha milk tea! Don’t forget to top it off with 2 Oishi toppings!

This year’s Cuckoo Blaster is double the fun because you get to pair up with your friend (or stranger) in matchy Cuckoo geared suits to catch as many balls you can. The more balls you catch as a team, the more Oishi drinks each player wins. Two Cuckoo Birds are better than one!

Crowd favorite Oishi Snack Catcher is back! Dive into an enormous pool of Oishi snacks and grab all the treats you can take with your own hands! And of course, the Snack Shack booth will be there where you can fill up your 2-foot Giant Pack with your favorite Oishi Snacks in 60 seconds.

5 Fun Activities You Can Do at Oishi Snacktacular 2017

After my experience at the Oishi Snacktacular event this year, there was nothing I looked forward to more than this year’s event. As July was coming to an end, I lost hope that there would be another chance to go… and then, just when I least expected it, the announcement for Oishi Snacktacular 2017 came.

So, today, I went to Festival Mall in Muntinlupa with a group of eager WIMmers and once again faced the joy that always comes with Oishi Snacktacular. The fun-filled event will only be held this weekend (until July 30), though, so make sure you go plan things with your family and friends NOW to make sure that you don’t miss out on all of the fun.

At the entrance of the event, you will be given an Oishi Pass to Wow where you will log your achievements for the day! 😀

5 Fun Activities You Can Do with Your Barkada at Oishi Snacktacular 2017
5. Make Your Own Snacks.
Make your tummy happy by customizing your very own Oishi snacks at the Make Your Own Snack booth. Choose two bases from Fishda, Spicy Oishi Prawn Crackers, Ridges Onion and Garlic, Panchos Nacho Cheese, and Bread Pan Cheese and Onion; and then choose two dips from sweet chili, mayonnaise, cheese, chocolate, and honey mustard.

4. Make Your Own O-Twirl
Of course, you need dessert to go with your snacks. At the O-Twirl booth, you can get your ice cream fix by choosing between Choco Chug ice cream or Tea Matchi ice cream (or get a mix of both!) and then choose two different toppings for it from Pillows, Gourmet Pops, Wafu, and Sponge Crunch.

Sweet tooth satisfied!

3. Pack a Ton of Snacks to Take Home from the Snack Shack.

At the Snack Shack, you’ll be given a huge Oishi pack with a design of your choice (pick your favorite Oishi chips, of course!) and then you have 60 seconds to fill it up with as many Oishi goodies as you can!

Top tip: start with your absolute favorites because if you pack it up too much, they’ll remove the chips at the top.

Basically, don’t do this. :p

2. Catch Some Balls While Wearing a Chicken Suit.

This is one of my favorite activities at Oishi Snacktacular. For this, you will need to wear an adorable chicken suit and try to catch as many balls in the suit as you can. They have added more fun into this by allowing two people to play at once, so you can play with a friend and get your competitiveness on, or even play with a stranger and make a new friend in the process! 😀

1. Become a Human Claw Machine at the Oishi Snack Catcher.

The belle of the ball every year is the Oishi Snack Catcher, where you will be strapped up and turned into a human claw machine to get as many goodies as you can out of a giant pool of Oishi snacks. Make sure you use all of your limbs for this to make the most out of the experience!

The high score when I left was 82 bags of chips! How many can you get?
Activities and fun aside, you might also run into celebrities like Alex Gonzaga, Maine Mendoza, Daniel Padilla, and Kathryn Bernardo!

Alex clearly takes the activities very seriously. :p

Make sure you head over as soon as you can because Oishi Snacktacular 2017 is only ongoing until this Sunday! Tag us in your posts having fun! We’d love to see them – especially if you rocked the Snack Catcher!
